Taking the Leap to Make a Difference

Four of our bravest colleagues took to new heights earlier this month in aid of a cause very close to our hearts. We’re incredibly proud of Ellie, Laura, Hannah, and Olivia, who took the leap by abseiling down the Europa Hotel last Sunday to raise vital funds for our Charity Partner, Cancer Fund for Children.
These four fearless individuals absolutely rocked it, raising an impressive £1,731, which will directly support children and young people affected by cancer across Northern Ireland.
Each week, approximately three children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in Northern Ireland, and research shows that these young individuals often face significant mental health challenges compared to their peers.
Cancer Fund for Children’s therapeutic centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down, provides crucial respite and support for 450 families annually. The centre is a lifeline for families across the island of Ireland, but the charity depends on donations to raise over £3 million each year to continue this vital work.

Reflecting on the experience, Laura shared her thoughts:
“Abseiling down one of the tallest buildings in Belfast was an unforgettable experience. We were all nervous, but it was totally worth it – especially knowing we raised such an amazing amount for Cancer Fund for Children.
It was even more meaningful as it fell on the same weekend as International Childhood Cancer Day. Thank you so much to everyone who donated!”
