StartplanetNI was Northern Ireland’s only equity backed start-up accelerator programme at one stage and was viewed as a very important addition to the efforts to develop an entrepreneurial start-up community here. It was an intensive 5 year programme which was designed to fast-track technology focused businesses which have the potential to be global superstars.
Globally, such quality accelerator programmes are known to be a crucial ingredient in developing successful start-up communities. Having witnessed the progression of the first set of teams who were lucky to get on it, we can see why. The first eight successful teams emerged from a highly competitive application process which we helped to promote both locally and globally and which saw over 300 companies from here and 44 international countries vie for the places.
Morrows supported the team behind StartPlanetNI from its inception and our task was to help them promote this programme locally and internationally through targeted communications, both online and offline, combining traditional and social media and stakeholder engagement. We promoted the benefits of the programme and highlighted the supportive start-up community across Northern Ireland. We also charted the success of the initial participants to encourage the next round of would be entrepreneurs from around the world to view Belfast as their start-up location of choice…and as base to take on the universe.
